Lilavati Hospital trustees claim 'Black Magic' evidence found amid Rs.1,250 crore embezzlement probe

Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital, already embroiled in a ₹1,250 crore embezzlement controversy, has now been rocked by claims of black magic practices on its premises. The current hospital trustees have alleged that they discovered eight urns containing human bones, skulls, hair, rice, and other occult objects buried beneath the trustees' office floor. The discovery was reportedly made following a tip-off from former employees and was documented on video during excavation.

This revelation comes in the wake of a major financial scandal involving former trustees, including Vijay Mehta, the brother of Lilavati Hospital’s late founder Kishore Mehta. The hospital trust has already filed multiple FIRs against the former management, accusing them of financial misappropriation, tax evasion, and document forgery. Another complaint has now been registered under the Maharashtra Anti-Black Magic Act, alleging that black magic rituals were performed to harm current trustee Prashant Mehta and his mother, Charu Mehta.

The ongoing financial probe has uncovered systematic embezzlement through fake purchase orders and falsified records. According to officials, the financial irregularities date back to 2002, when Kishore Mehta temporarily stepped away for medical treatment. During this period, Vijay Mehta allegedly forged documents to take control of the hospital trust, appointing his family members as trustees while removing Kishore Mehta’s name. This resulted in a legal battle that ended in 2016, restoring Kishore Mehta’s position.

After Kishore Mehta’s death in 2024, his son Prashant Mehta became the permanent trustee and initiated a forensic audit, which exposed the large-scale fraud. The audit findings led to the registration of three FIRs against former trustees. The financial investigation, combined with the shocking discovery of occult items within the hospital premises, has added another layer of intrigue to the unfolding scandal.

However, Chetan Mehta, son of Vijay Mehta, has dismissed the black magic allegations as baseless. He called them “sensational claims” meant to distract from the ongoing legal battle. Meanwhile, the police and forensic teams are examining the recovered items, and further investigations are underway to verify the nature and purpose of the alleged occult practices.

With a ₹1,250 crore scam, black magic allegations, and legal battles, Lilavati Hospital finds itself at the center of a bizarre and high-stakes controversy that continues to unfold. Authorities are expected to conduct further forensic examinations and interrogations as they piece together the events behind the scandal.
